One day I was driving down the famed “Fairfax” and came across a line of about 25 or so people in front of Supreme Los Angeles. I stopped the car which I believe was some rental at that time and jumped out and asked “What’s Dropping”?.. Couple guys answered “Supreme Bruin SB’s in four colorways”.. I quickly went and grabbed the only thing I had in My trunk which was some little ladder and set up My spot in line. I had a bunch of things to do that day so I made quick friends with the two guys infront of Me and asked if they’d hold Me down while I went and wrapped up My day since the Kicks didn’t actually drop till the next morning. They agreed and I went on about My day. When I got back I was now 35th or so in line. Some friends of some people more towards the front showed up. Being one of My newer line ups I just let it go and didn’t say too much.
Night came and the line was growing and growing. I fell asleep and woke up with the sun hitting My face and the Meter Maid knocking on My car window telling Me I better put some money in the meter because it was after 8 AM. That was nice of her. I did so and just then looked up and saw that the line ahead of My spot I had in line was deeper than the night before. Yeah, more friends of the friends. SMH. “Whatever” I said to Myself. Let it go. At this point I’m about 58th-60th in line and am not letting anyone else in ahead of Me! Yeah right….. Hours passed with Starbucks and Canters Deli & Bakery being the Breakfast of choice that day. 11 AM rolls around and of course VIP’s and Friends and Family of Supreme start showing up and needless to say we waited and waited. It seemed like forever. By about 11:50 AM or so they started letting in about 7-10 people at a time while all the while more VIP’s were popping up. Who knows what number in line I actually ended up being after all that. I started out 35 and most likely ended up in the 70’s not including all the “Special People” who were allowed to go in ahead of all of us who camped out.
At this point the line is wrapping the corner and ending by The Hundreds on Rosewood. Finally about 12:15 PM I get in the store and stand in another small line with Employees walking up asking “What Size, What Color”? I answered “Size 12 All Colors”! Worker says “I’m out of Green” I say “Yay”… I didn’t really want the Black or the Green colorways but was just doing it to get the set. Hyping? I know I know. Guilty. Now after the 22 Hour wait I am at the register and pay for 3 pairs of the “Supreme SB Bruin” and very happily walk out and chop it up with some newer friends I had met. Shout out to Chip from up in The Bay Area who was down in LA with His “Just For Kicks” Family. Bunch of good guys heavy into HEAT! After some info exchanging and future release talk I headed back to the car. I was stopped by some random Guy who was asking everyone if they had any size 12’s for sale and that He’d pay $250.oo on the spot. No Brainer! I sold Him My Black pair and was happy as can be to have paid a total of about $40.oo for the 2 pairs I walked away with. The Red and the White colorways.
Several months later I was not doing so well financially as far as having extra money for Kicks goes anyways and decided to sell some Kicks I had stashed. I actually went to Flight Club LA and was about to sell them both pairs on the spot. I kinda questioned their intentions due to the fact that I had never heard of them doing so. Usually, You would leave Your Kicks on consignment and they take their 20%. (Highest % in the business) As the worker turned the White pair around to look at them from all sides I noticed the Mis-Print Error and quickly said I was not interested and walked out. The left shoe should read ” Nike” and under that “World” with the right shoe reading “Nike” and under that “Famous” to match the Supreme slogan of “World Famous” which You were able to see in My teaser post where I showed the Reds. YES!! That was the first time I had ever looked at these Kicks Myself. The offer was for 150 cash by the way. They said I could leave the Red pair on consignment but they would pay cash for the Whites. I’ll refrain from commenting any further on this visit to Flight Club.
Things got better and I didn’t have to sell too many pairs of Kicks to stay on top. This has to be one of My most favorite Pairs in My Collection but far from any type of Grail. I mentioned Via Twitter the other day that A pair of Kicks doesn’t have to be worth thousands or even hundreds to be Your Grail. It’s all up to “WHAT YOU LIKE”. Might even have cost You under a hunderd dollars but that is the pair that excites you the most. Makes you the proudest to be able to rock them joints! As many of you know, I’m currently Hunting My Grail.
This pair of Supreme X Nike SB Bruin remain DS and most likely will for as long as they are in My Collection. I personally have never heard of such a mistake hitting retail shops ever. Everyone I have shown it to is simply amazed and speechless when they see it at first. Then always the “How’d You Get It” question pops up and I end up telling this exact story over and over. It never gets old. It’s part of My learning and enjoying “The Shoe Game” as I’ve come to know it. I leave You all with some pictures to enjoy of this 1 of None SB wonder.
Last week I decided to start refreshing My stack of Kicks I wear in rotation and break out these bad boys. Everyone loved them with a multitude of compliments everywhere I went from Shoe Lovers to random people who had no idea what I was wearing. It’s just a nice clean pair of Kicks. Posting this Pre-Post as a teaser to a 1 of None “Supreme Bruin” post that I am now working on. Stay Tuned.. Line-Up Story and some great pics to come as well.. - WOLF
I recently stumbled upon a pair of these beauties while fuggin around on E-bay looking for some clients requests. When I had caught a flight out to Nice Kicks Shop Opening in Austin, Texas We all witnessed a pair being rocked in the long long line that had formed to get in. Ever since that day the image of this Max 90 has been running through My head. After refining the collection and getting rid of over 200 pairs of kicks recently I have started leaning specifically towards Air Max 90’s, AF1’s (Rareness Only), Air Max 1’s, Older SB’s (Fat Tongue), Dunk Lows, and just anything that is presented in a rare creative colorway with some proper material placements that stand out to Me. Of course I am into Jordans while recently looking towards some older stuff. Here are some pics of the Air Max 90 ‘War Hawk” and the Inspiration for this colorway. Can’t wait to sport these Heaters!
Last night I was invited to the FMS Shoe Launch Party at The World Famous Roxy in Hollywood, Ca. Lil’ Wolf and My cousin Marc were some troopers the night before and got me on the list somehow. Like Father Like Son - Never Not Hustling. It was a really nice night out with it being hot this day. Tattoos were the fashion last night as I walked up to a whole lot of Inked Up people. Black was the color of the night. I opted out with a green Crooks Button Up Short Sleeve. Wore some AF1’s which I rarely do. I am starting to like them more and more as time goes by. There were plenty of drinks on deck with loud loud music pumping out the speakers. Pre-Show it was mostly Hip-Hop/Rap from the DJ. He rocked it! After having a few drinks before I headed over to The Roxy, The Red Stripe they had on deck was refreshing to say the least. It took quite a while after they let people in to get the actual show on the road. The crowd patiently waited. Without disappointment YELAWOLF & NinjaSonik came out and did their thug thizzle! I skipped out a little early feeling real good. Left the rest of the night and hard core partying up to Justin and Marc. I did take some pics of the new Kicks earlier on in the day which I will post on My LA Store Guide tumblr Coming Soon. Ended the night over at El Torasco with Ron Patterson on some iPhone4 review typa talk. He had always had the better phones with His newest Blackberry making My BB Curve look like a Dinasour. He definitely passed Me the crown once I showed Him all the coolness Apple had to offer this time around. Had the Carne Asada Plate. No Joke El Torasco is the Biz!
The Roxy is a place with a lot of history in the music scene being a vital fixture in Hollywood. An unmistakable neon Roxy signs let’s you know that you are Live On The Sunset Strip. All in all In My Opinion, the FMS Shoe line is a mash up of Vans Meets Chuck Taylor. Really nothing special in My eyes but I am only one person. The FMS Brand has a large and strong Family Oriented following with passionate supporters that I am sure have and will be picking up these Kicks when they drop by and get that latest DTA or FMS Tee at The Fast Life LA. Until next time….
UNDFTD + Medicom Japan 3 Year Anniversary 100% Bearbrick
I am not usually a Medicom Bearbrick fan or buyer. So when My Favorite Hometown Boutique UNDEAFEATED did a Colabo with this Brand I had to stay on my toes for this one. Dropping at all UNDFTD locations and Web Store Saturday July 10th. Everyone should have a fair chance of getting themselves one if they’d like. This is the 100% which is the smaller one from what I understand. Looking forward to having the little Bear Chillin’ at The Wolf Den. - Wolf
